Job Description:
Perform magnetic and penetrant quality control inspection of ferrous and non-ferrous parts, materials and tools for defects not readily visible. Participate in development of new test programs, procedures and acceptance criteria for calibration standards and production parts. Inspection parts in accordance with established test programs, calibration standards and inspection plans. Set up related equipment for NDI operations. Stamp or otherwise indicate parts of acceptable quality. Maintain inspection records. Note flaw indications and prepare documentation for parts of unacceptable quality. Setup parts and adjust supporting equipment for inspection activities. May be called on to support off-site activities. Must be willing to work in a team environment. May be required to work 2nd or third shift.
Competencies:
Must be technically knowledgeable in Magnetic and Penetrant methods. Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical directives. Candidate shall possess the ability to communicate results of inspections to a diverse audience. Standard computer skills are a plus.
Education Requirements:
Current or prior NAS410/MIL-STD-410E Level 2 certification in liquid penetrant and magnetic particle inspection methods is required. Eddy current inspection training and/or certification is a plus.
