TYPICAL DUTIES FOR A, B & C LEVEL: The following statements describe general duties and should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
• Read drawings and blue prints.
• Performs visual and measured inspections using various measurement instruments and inspection equipment.
• Completes and maintains certification and testing equipment on a daily basis.
• Completes inspection and test records and reports.
NDE Trainee Technician C
• In training program to conduct non destructive examination using various non destructive examination disciplines.
• Requires extensive classroom training.
• Requires self documentation of on the job experience hours.
• Conducts non destructive examinations using various non destructive examination methods under close supervision of technician A.
• Requires close supervision.
NDE Technician B (Level I)
• Conducts non destructive examinations using various non destructive examination methods.
• Has a good understanding of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code - Steel and inspection processes.
• Must be able to stay current on training as specific examination codes change.
• Must meet the training and certification requirements (classroom).
• Continue to self document on the job hours for all disciplines used.
• Requires minimal supervision.
NDE Technician A (Level II)
• Have completed OJT requirements for all eight NDE disciplines.
• Have completed AWS D1.1 training program.
• Detailed knowledge of non destructive guidelines.
• Conducts inspections of all eight NDE disciplines, employed at this shop.
• Has a good understanding of AWS D1.1 Structural Steel Welding code - Steel and inspection processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of all processes for complete processing of AWS D1.1 Wind Tower Sections.
• Requires minimal supervision and is able to assist in supervision of others.
• Must be able to supervise and train NDE trainee Technician C for OJT requirements for all disciplines used.
• Must be able to stay current on training as specific examination codes change.
• Has excellent working knowledge of AAR Field manual, job codes, qualifiers and why made codes.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Must be able to successfully perform in a classroom environment.
• Read and write English fluently.
• Requires strong math skills.
• Willingness to follow directions (written and spoken) and learn.
• Self starter and able to manage daily work load.
• Requires annual vision testing for acuteness and color blindness.
• Requires the ability to work independently.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
• Ability to function as a team member.
• Maintain and establish effective working relationships.
• Must be able to operate equipment used for the following NDE disciplines:
UT Level I
UT Level II
PT Level I
PT Level II
MT Level I
MT Level II
