Perform and evaluate /examination results of work activities associated with plant maintenance, modifications or construction projects in accordance with procedures and work instructions. Generate accurate, timely and relevant technical reports or compilations of inspection/examination results. Aid in the development of and ensure the efficient implementation of the company’s program. Perform inspection planning and completion reviews as required. Perform training of other department personnel as assigned by the Supervisor QC. Identify and initiate corrective action documents (hardware/performance) as issues. Perform scheduled and unscheduled surveillances in accordance with procedures. Plan, schedule and implement department refueling activities. Serve as department representative on WCNOC initiatives with outside companies and agencies (Owners, EPRI, USA) and on internal company initiatives. Provide input on development of department budgets. Develop and implement department contracts with vendor and USA companies. Assign examination jobs to appropriate examiners, and make final decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel. Assume supervisory responsibilities of QC personnel and contractors as assigned. Develop and maintain discipline specific QC procedures as well as QC administrative procedures. Develop and implement discipline specific lesson plans and examinations as applicable for the training, certification, and proficiency of QC examiners. This includes maintenance of reevaluations and recertifications for applicable QC examiners. Provide leadership, assistance and guidance to QC inspectors / examiners certified in the responsible discipline and coordinate work activities with co-workers and other departments. Evaluate indeterminate or unacceptable inspection results for defect characterization and possible corrective measures. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision/management.
Skills:
This position requires a high school diploma (or GED equivalent) and the ability to assimilate the training provided for initial certification. This position requires the ability to successfully pass and maintain qualifications necessary to support the performance of field inspections. (PAT, RAD II, Confined Space Entry) This position requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience. Relevant work experience is defined as having held NDE certifications, such as MT, PT, ET, UT, RT. This position requires incumbent to be qualified and certified as a Level III in accordance with ASNT-SNT-TC-1A or CP 189 in three NDE disciplines per the employers written policies and procedures. This position requires good oral and written communication skills.
