Swiss Lathe Programmer / Engineer – swiss type cnc lathe, programming, tooling, hands on

This is a hands on position requiring 5 years plus of cnc programming, knowledge of M&G codes, feeds, speeds, surface finishes, cutting tool applications and machine set up. Experience with cam software such as Partmaker, Esprit and/or Mastercam is preferred. The ability to design / sketch special cutting tools is preferred but not required. The swiss lathe Programmer / Process Engineer will work from design prints, calculate feeds and speeds, cycletimes, select cutting tools, collets, guide bushings, program cnc code, document processes, set up the swiss lathes, prove out the program, optimize the process and train operators on the process. Our client will consider candidates who came up through the ranks gaining process engineering experience, degreed engineers or supervisors with strong technical skills who have engineering abilities. Strong troubleshooting and the ability to debug machine tool, cnc programming and cutting tool issues are strongly preferred. Past experience processing, programming and setting up one of the following brands of swiss cnc lathes: Star, Citizen, Tsugami, Nomura, Hanwha, Nexturn and/or Tornos Deco.

MUST HAVE: 5 years plus of programming, tool selection and set up experience. Candidates will need the ability to work from a print specify tools, guide bushings and collets. This position focuses in on developing new processes, programs, proving out the program optimizing the cycletime and tooling prior to production. Our client will train on the various models of swiss lathes and software.
