Manufacturing Engineering Manager – medical devices, machining, leadership, continuous improvement

We are searching for candidates with 7 years of experience leading, guiding and directing engineers and technical professionals. This manager will lead major projects to launch new products, introduce new manufacturing/ machining technology, improve machining methods and identifies solutions improving the overall manufacturing operation. Interested candidates will need experience in close tolerance machining, tooling, fixturing, materials, quality, project management, budgeting, planning and leading cross functional teams. Past experience launching projects to optimize and improve machining and assembly methods is a main focus of the position. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead teams of design, manufacturing and process engineers to launch new products and improve current machining methodology and efficiencies. Candidates will need a four year degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, operations or technical related degrees. Knowledge of medical device manufacturing or experience in a highly regulated quality environment is a must. Experience working in a FDA, GMP and/or ISO-13485 manufacturing environment is strongly desired. Advanced problem solving skills, six sigma methodology and lean manufacturing is also needed. Past experience working with multi axis CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, swiss CNC lathes, mill / turn, automation and metal finishing processes.
MUST HAVE: a 4 year technical degree and 7 years of managing engineering and technical associates in a highly regulated close tolerance machining environment. Knowledge of project management, capital equipment justifications, manufacturing methodology, lean, six sigma, machining, tooling, materials and advanced problem solving skills is a must.
