Pressure systems certification technicians perform routine inspections on process piping systems and ground based pressure vessels based on government inspection standards and criteria. Additional job requirements and position responsibilities include: developing inspection plans, updating pressure system documentation, field identification and verification of system components, research of system components and developing contact reports based on communications with component manufacturers and vendors, developing isometric sketches to reflect changes in system configuration, developing isometric weld map drawings to reflect changes in system configuration and maintaining individual pressure system documentation in hard copy and electronic format.
Skills:
The technician needs to be Level II Certified in accordance with SNT-TC-1A in the following areas: Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrate Testing (PT), and Visual Testing (VT). Nondestructive Testing will include the examination of high pressure vessels, piping, and associated components at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). Personnel having ASNT Certification in additional NDE methods (e.g. Radiographic Examination (RT), and Acoustic Emission Testing (AE)) is desired.

Two (2) years of college with courses in computer science, mathematics, or related engineering courses, plus eight (8) years of related experience in data reduction and analysis, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience for a total of ten (10) years. Position requires comprehensive knowledge of project activities gained through long and varied work experience in field of specialty.

Skill Requirements: Level II Certified SNT-TC-1A Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrate Testing (PT), and Visual Testing (VT). General working knowledge of Pressure Systems.
