We are seeking a talented Metallurgist in heat treat area of the facility to lead all technical activities associated with the procurement, processing and evaluation of materials and hardware; provide technical support on metallurgical and special process matters to engineering, production and quality depts.

The role is also responsible for the preparation and approval of working procedures for processing of materials, control and verification of processes, equipment and products to ensure conformance to customer requirements through analytical techniques and laboratory methods, ensuring NADCAP certification, through preparing and leading NADCAP audits. Write procedures based on Customer requirements to perform special process operations to ensure efficient, economical and correct processing. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g. AMS 2750) and metallurgical testing.

We are a tight tolerance shop which includes processes such as Heat Treat, Plating, Gear Grinding and Gear Cutting; experience and/or background in a similar tight tolerance industry is a plus.

Education and Experience requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science Metallurgy and Materials Science, 5 years of experience; 2 in a test laboratory and 3 in a production environment. Experience in carburizing and hardening processes and die/plug/free quenching is needed. Advanced knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing, at least NDT Level II is preferred(especially MPI). Experience in the Aerospace industry is a big plus.
