Non-Destructive Testing Quality Manager

The Quality Manager is the coordinator of Kakivik Asset Management’s Quality program. Responsibilities include managing the Nondestructive Testing certification process. The manager will oversee internal and external audits of the program to ensure compliance with American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) and client recommendations or requirements. The Quality Manager is appointed as Kakivik Asset Management LLC’s authority on company-wide quality issues.
Essential job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
a. Initiate and maintain employee certification files
b. Develop procedures and documents (as necessary)
c. Perform research, advise, & assist in QA/QC processes
d. Administer new-hire exams, certifications, etc.
e. Approval of Technical Procedures
f. Maintenance of personnel certification records, approval of education, training and experience of NDE and Inspection personnel to ensure that the requirements specified in this Written Practice are met
g. Approval of formal and specific technical training programs and curriculum.
h. Maintenance and revision of the NDE and inspection practice, evaluation of candidates nominated by operations personnel for training or certification
i. Perform random proficiency reviews on NDE and Inspection personnel. The Quality Manager may delegate any of the above tasks to another NDE Level III or other qualified individual.
j. The Quality Manager shall represent the company at audits concerning the certification of personnel.

1. Training Items:
1. Coordinate & oversee activities of the training manager/quality specialist/training coordinator/quality associate.
2. Schedule training classes to maintain critical certifications
3. Approve internal and external instructors for classes
4. Develop training materials including curriculum outlines, PowerPoint presentations, classroom manuals, handouts, Articulate Presentations, web content, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:
1. Must possess ASNT Level III’s – RT,MT, PT, UT (poss. VT, LT, IRT)
2. Auditing skills enhancement (ASQ or other Auditor Certification)
3. ASQ Quality Manager/Engineer Certification
4. Minimum 10 years managerial and supervisory experience in Quality; and/or Bachelor’s degree in related field and five years progressively more responsible experience at the senior level in the Quality Department of a Non-Destructive Testing provider.
5. Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent people skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
6. Good working knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of Quality Assurance in the areas of Management of Change, Corrective Action, employee development and training.
7. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
8. Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills, and have the ability to manage complex issues and conflicts.
9. Ability to prepare and conduct effective presentations (i.e., NDE Training classes, Quality Programs).
10. Proficient with computer usage, especially in Microsoft Office (Excel and MS Word) programs.
11. Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
12. Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
13. Working knowledge of Articulate training module development a plus.

This position will be required to regularly travel to remote work sites.
