JOB SUMMARY

Prepare/Process and inspect aerospace and commercial parts and materials using the water wash method of fluorescent dye penetrant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Mask (as necessary) and pre clean parts for processing using solvents and aluminum soak cleaners.
Process parts through a water-wash penetrant system according to written procedures.
Conduct daily calibrations according to written procedures.
Inspect parts to various specifications.
Process paperwork associated with Penetrant (work orders, reject tags).
Occasionally package parts for return to customer.
Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
Follow work rules and standard safety regulations at all times.
Maintain safe working practice's and insure area is clean and free of any possible dangerous situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to operate basic computer functions in a Windows environment and basic knowledge of MS Office
Ability to interpret specs and drawings and recognize when parts are out of specification
Ability to identify, organize, estimate and recognize differences or similarities
Skill in utilizing basic measuring equipment to inspect parts
Skill in basic math to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and fractions
Attention to detail
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions
Ability to advise employees of quality requirements
Accepting of criticism and ability to deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations
Ability to provide direction and guidance

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read work instructions and procedures in English.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent education/experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have on file a certification that states employee has met the requirements of NAS-410, SNT-TC-1A, and BSS 7698
