PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reporting to the Division Manager, Kenai Alaska; The UT Level II/ shearwave responsible to calibrate and interpret ultrasonic equipment to Acuren procedures.

The level II must be able to correctly identify inspection locations and track the progress on inspection work packages. Typical work would include scanning piping systems for corrosion / erosion networks and thickness. Also, the Level II must be capable of interpreting welds made from various processes according to but not limited to ASME, ANSI, API, AND AWS codes. When working as a 2 person crew, the level II will be required to mentor and train the UT Trainees. The work is in the field; working around and on the pipelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties
• Calibrate an Ultrasonic Scope.
• Produce quality evaluations in accordance with Acuren procedures.
• Fill out daily permit reports.
• Fill out inspection reports.
• Communicating with Supervisors, Operators, Peers, or Subordinates by telephone, radio, written form or in person.
• Problem solving abilities to identify a problem determine a resolution to it and act upon it appropriately.
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources to process inspections in a timely manner.

Safety
• Actively participate in Acuren and Client safety programs.
• Proper use of all issued personal protective equipment. I.e. fire retardant clothing, arctic gear, hard hat, safety glasses, etc. Some of this PPE is heavy (arctic gear approx. 50 pounds) and adds to the overall weight of one’s self.
• Meet Acuren requirements for pre-employment drug screening with a verified negative result prior to commencing work.

Quality
• Read and follow all Acuren procedures.
• Follow all parts of the QA program in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
Mentorship
• Train and mentor trainees in all aspects of the work.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified UT Level II Shearwave.
• Other Level II Certifications are a plus.
• Experience with UT codes and standards for scanning piping systems and interpreting welds.
• Able to read and understand prints to find the inspection location.
• Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
• CWI certification.

Physical Requirements
• UT equipment weighing up to 60 lbs. in one hand and utilizing handrails with other hand to climb flights of stairs safely as Acuren policy.
• Ability to climb stairs up to 100 ft. multiple times per day. (Up to 50% of shift)
• Lifting of approx. 1- 60 lbs. with a rope using the hand over hand technique to lift equipment in a canvas bag up scaffold and ladders.
• Work continuous at heights from ladders, scaffolds, or aerial lift devices during shift.
• Carry and effectively manipulate a 12 to 16 foot step ladder and extension ladder.
• Ability to climb ladders utilizing 3 points of contact up to 100 ft. multiple times per day.
• Ability to work at 100 feet heights, confined spaces and highly volatile industry situations.
• Carry or pull up to 60 lbs. while on normal and snowy or icy surfaces.
• Occasionally lift 60 lbs. above shoulder level for placement on work surface.
• Ability to repetitively bend and or twist for most of the 12 hour shift to reach inspection areas.
• Walk, climb on and maneuver on or around piping, supports and working in cramped conditions.
• Work in crouched position for extended periods. ( Up to 60% of shift)
• Must wear safety harness while climbing through pipe rack.
• Ability to enter confined spaces through small entryways requiring bending and twisting to enter and exit.
• Work in inclement weather and temperature extremes. (- 80 deg. F- +120 deg. F)
• Drive a field truck on gravel roads in normal to poor road conditions. I.E. Snow, ice, fog, washboard.
• Work in or near industrial hazards.
