PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reporting to the MD and the PM the Level III/ DOT Certifier shall be responsible for certification of NDE personnel in accordance with QCP-1 and DOT covered task regulations. This position will be an essential part of new technology testing and implementation. This position will work closely with the Quality Manager in procedure development and quality data management.

Hours of work: 12.5 hours per day (may be longer as conditions demand), 7 days per week on a rotational schedule (2x2 or 3x3). Pay is hourly, subject to straight time and overtime. Employees are responsible for travel costs to Anchorage or Fairbanks, AK. Job is located in Prudhoe Bay Alaska.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client interaction
• Interface daily with the client about work priorities and progress of projects
• Actively participate in client programs, planning and strategy sessions
• Work closely with client to identify and remove obstacles
• Actively participate in client safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc.

Responsibilities
• Train and mentor technicians in current methods and new technology
• Perform compliance audits
• Review incoming reports and oversee data quality to ensure that they meet all procedural and code requirements
• Provide Level II duties as specified in QCP-1, including but not limited to:
 Developing, qualifying and approving procedures
 Establishing techniques
 Interpreting Codes and Standards
 Training and certification of Level I, IIr and II personnel
• Provide technician training and certification for DOT AOC and OQ
• Provide specific training in NDT methods as specified by the Operations Supervisor
• Oversee the technology realization process-equipment testing, design of experiment, POD, validation of equipment, procedure development and training/testing of technicians

Organizational development
• Evaluate the techniques used in each department to identify areas where efficiency, quality, production and safety can be improved
• Encourage adequate feedback from employees to ensure continual improvement of program
• Interface with the client, MD, PM & Ops Supv to focus the direction of new technology initiatives on the North Slope
• Interface with the QA Manager to develop procedures for new technology and implement a program for training/certification of technicians
• Collect and analyze data from audits other sources to initiate continuous projects

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Knowledge
• Certification as ASNT Level III in at least one method
• Certification as Acuren Level III in at least three methods
• Have a working knowledge of each methods strengths and limitations to ensure the proper inspection type is being utilized for the job scope requirements.
• Be familiar with current codes and procedures needed to properly perform inspections and interpret results.
• Good data management skills

Experience
• Greater than 5 years in NDE industry
• Supervisory experience preferably in NDE Industry or other heavy industrial environment

Specific Skills
• Must have excellent time management, interpersonal, and project management skills.
• Competent with Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
• Service Oriented – maintain good working relationships with both internal and external clients by promoting an environment of responsive service and frequent communication.

Physical Requirements
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 - 50 pounds.
• Work in both cold and hot climates.
