JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform set up for specialized nondestructive test (NDT) or measurement equipment and/or guide the development or improvement of nondestructive inspection or test techniques. Inspect installations and proper functioning of equipment, parts and assemblies. Perform tests or inspections (manual, visual or with special equipment) and collect data. Provide feedback on adverse trends.

Set up, maintain and operate NDI testing and inspection equipment. Obtain specifications from complicated blueprints, research and experimental designs, engineering orders, etc. Complete required reports or record keeping as required by company ERP system or customer requirements. May recommend corrective action to prevent recurrence of work which fails to meet required standards. Recheck when corrective measures have been completed.

Participate in development of program specific NDT documents. Assist Level 3 in development and implementation of processes and procedures for new or revised NDT methods. May aid, guide or assist quality policy designees in an advisory capacity in proper inspection methods and procedures and may check their work for accuracy and acceptability. The candidate may also participate in recommending appropriate equipment for purchase by Quatro.
Skills:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The Level 2 UT candidate shall:
• Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
• Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the ultrasonic method.
• Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel in the technique/method in which they are certified.
• Be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method used onsite.
• Be capable of developing written instructions from approved general procedures. Such instructions will require final approval by the designated Level 3.

Education: High school graduate / GED required.

Experience: Must be a certified Level II NDI Technician per NAS 410, with experience with bondline inspection, and both contact and immersion methods. Additional inspection experience in a NADCAP environment preferred. Certification must be in ultrasonic testing. Technical inspection experience in composites and BAC5980 requirements a plus.

Testing: NDT Level II testing will be administered within six months of hire, with ongoing testing required for continued employment.
