SUMMARY

Inspect and test machined, fabricated, or assembled parts and products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications or required codes such as ASME, API, etc., using precision measuring instruments and electronic test equipment. Develop and maintain QA/QC program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform regular QA/QC audits as well as coordinating 3rd party inspections
• Audit and approve programs of subcontractors
• Inspect, test, and/or measure materials, products, installations, and/or work for conformance to purchase order specifications and required codes such as API, ASME, etc., using instruments such as lasers, calipers, gauges, micrometers and rulers.
• Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications,
• Generate NCRs and confirm corrective actions
• Read blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, and measuring instruments required.
• Record and compile extensive inspection/test data, such as temperatures, material grades, pressure test results, moisture content, qualified welder lists, etc. Maintain and keep all records current.
• Accept or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
• Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
• Coordinate with customers, Engineering, shop personnel and other Inspectors on a daily basis.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English at all levels of the organization.
• Maintain regular attendance and timeliness on a consistent basis.
• Conduct business and interactions with a positive attitude that projects the highest level of professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be familiar with code standards according to ASME, API, etc.
• Knowledgeable in welding, steel fabrication, steel erection, foundations, soil-testing, etc.
• Knowledgeable in calibration, specific weld procedures, and safety
• Familiar with non-destructive testing such as LPT, UT, and RT

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
Certifications such as CWI, UT level II, RT level II, LPT Level II a plus but not required.
