Opportunity exists for a Director of Quality to help grow our client's office located in Alvin, Texas.
In this position, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all Quality Support operations and Manufacturing divisions.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Perform special request duties as required by Management
- (document control, record-keeping, NDE and HTT certification programs, supplier approvals, internal audits, corrective action requests, etc.)
- Perform periodic evaluations of department performance against established objectives and targets, and suggests improvements where needed.
- Stay up-to-date on industrial trends, including Quality-related initiatives (i.e., Six-Sigma, CQI, Lean/5S) and standards revisions (i.e., ISO9001, AS9100, etc.).
- Implement all short-term operating objectives, plans and programs.
- Develop medium to long-term operating strategies and recommendations for plans and programs for increasing Quality performance.
- Prepare capital expense and operating budgets.
- Support sales efforts when necessary, including the completion of pre-qualification surveys and submission of controlled quality documents to customer representatives.
- Provide a clear channel of communication and coordination between the Quality Specialists and functional counterparts in the company's departments.
- Have a general understanding of all company products and services that are available to our customers, and how the Quality program applies to these areas.
- Learn and abide by company policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Requires high school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred.
- Must successfully complete all required training (i.e., Safety, Smith Driving, etc.), in addition to the follow job-specific training:
- ISO9001:2000 (or latest edition) certificate of completion
- Ability to meet qualifications to serve as QMS Lead Auditor
- Ability to meet qualifications to serve as EMS Auditor
- Completion of a Root Cause Analysis training progra
- Six-Sigma (green belt or equivalent)
- Must possess comprehensive knowledge of Quality Assurance operating policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to audit the flow of data to ensure reliability, develop check points and provide periodic statistical reports of a general and/or specialized nature.

This position requires the ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
Must have a proven ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., MS Word, Access, Excel, etc.).
Must be able to communicate verbally, and in writing, with co-workers, supervisor, and Management
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
