POSITION SUMMARY

The Compliance Manager will manage; the health and safety
program, Quality Assurance system, Radiation Safety in
conjunction with corporate initiatives and business
needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety
• Ensure that instruction is ongoing for required
safety related teaching including orientation, yearly and
mandatory training.
• Ensure programs are in place for employees to
take part in Acuren safety initiatives and programs as
required.
• Ensure that regular workplace inspections are
taking place to promote a safe and healthy environment.
• Promote toolbox, Job Hazard Assessments, safety
awareness and awards programs.
• Remain current and educated on occupational
health and safety regulations.
• Administer safety policies and relevant
occupational health and safety legislation.
• Liaison with department managers in the
implementation of programs, policies, incident
investigation and provide direction where necessary.
• Perform audits and inspections and provide
direction to area managers and supervisors on safety
related issues identified during inspections and
assessments.
• Ensure compliance of safety related programs
through audits and observations.
• Support management of Workers Comp Claims by
participating in quarterly reviews and following up with
division managers for post incident management and
subsequent return to work.
• Ensure that records of toolbox meetings, hazard
assessments, incident investigations, incident reports,
safety training and enforcement of the program are
maintained.
• Maintain records pertaining to authorized vehicle
drivers, including recent driver abstracts, driver
training, driver suspensions, and demerit points system.
• Provide monthly safety statistics to regional
management and corporate on the status of the program.
• Provide monthly statistical information to
manager and Safety Director.
Quality
• Ensure the programs needed for the QMS are
established, implemented and maintained.
• Monitor and report on compliance of quality
system to manager and Quality Director through auditing
and observations.
• Define and maintain quality planning.
• Ensure proper maintenance of local quality
procedures and programs (e.g. client specific).
• Ensure Corrective Action Reports are written for
identified deficiencies (either by client or internal
observations) and provide direction to dispositions and
corrective actions of non-conformance reports.
• Participate in Quality Management Review
meetings.
• Assist with local internal quality audits.
• Provide direction and advice for best
implementation of the quality system at various
locations.
Radiation Safety
• Work closely with the manager and corporate to
ensure compliance is maintained and, where possible,
expectations for compliance are exceeded to maintain the
excellent standing of the company.
• Participate in the investigation of radiation
safety incidents and ensure all corrective actions are
completed.
• Ensure all required training is being conducted
and documented.
• Ensure all required field and office audits are
scheduled and completed in accordance with the
Procedures, and that corrective actions are completed
where required.
• Other actions to ensure continued compliance with
all parts of the Radiation Safety Procedures.
Other
• Add to regional morale by building teamwork,
professionalism and continuous improvement projects to
enhance the region and the company.
• Assist with staff including direction,
performance reviews, training requirements, job reviews,
recruiting and hiring of area and branch office safety,
quality and RSO representatives.
• Ensure programs are in place for the competency
testing of technicians.
• Develop supplementary training programs as
required.
• Corresponding, coordinating, and summarizing data
for the purpose of creating monthly and/or quarterly
reports for the division, region, or corporate.


REQUIREMENTS

• Associated degree or equivalency of with 5 to 10
years of diversified safety/quality and management
experience.
• Excellent communication skills with management,
co-workers, technicians and client management.
• Good to excellent proficiency with computers,
e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, web applications.
• Highly organized and ability to manage time
effectively.
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing, growing
environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Reaching - extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any
direction
• Pushing - using upper extremities to press
against something with steady force in order to thrust
forward, downward or outward
• Pulling - using upper extremities to exert force
in order to draw haul or tug objects in a sustained
motion

• Performing sedentary duties work environment
typical of office setting, requires sitting for long
periods of time, ability to move, carry, or lift up to 15
pounds
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal

• Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
required for use of calculators, phones, computer
keyboards and other equipment
• Requires ability to sustain concentration in a
noisy and fast –paced environment
• Interact regularly with managers, clients,
vendors, and agencies to field queries and questions
• Exposure to:
