HSE Advisor on the Alaskan North Slope

We are currently accepting resumes for a HSE Advisor:

POSITION SUMMARY: The HSE Advisor shall ensure that identified health, safety, and environmental requirements are implemented by appropriate personnel in all project work areas. The position shall also ensure that HSE processes are being adhered to (audit / assess) in accordance with client, industry, and legislated standards for health, safety, and environmental.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

• Provide direct oversight of Mistras’ HSE Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure compliance with clients North Slope HSE Policies and Procedures.
• Perform safety audits as required by policy.
• Provide or coordinate all HSE training, both Mistras and BP required.
• Provide visibility of required HSE training for all Mistras employees.
• Be present with any reported injury or illness by an employee while at Medic Facilities.
• Contact Mistras Physician for any reported injury or illness’s and assists with managing situation.
• Perform or assist with HSE investigations.
• Oversee the daily toolbox meetings for both day and night shifts.
• Measure relevant HSE statistics to ensure programs are effective.
• Report significant HSE events to the VP of Compliance.
• Be a proven leader in all HSE capabilities.
• Stop any jobs that are deemed unsafe and lead the way to attempt to resolve the issue.
• Ensure all employees are represented while receiving any medical attention.
• Assist with the preparation of the weekly Team Meeting.
• Provide statistical information for weekly Power Point meetings and for monthly KPIs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Hold a safety and or environmental associate or bachelor degree or 5+ years as a safety advisor in a utilities environment with hands on working experience in a Safety Management System (SMS).
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Having a good strong knowledge of the North Slope work environment is strongly recommended.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.

We are seeking candidates that are willing to make a minimum 1-2 year commitment. This is a FULLTIME position with benefits. We are not seeking short term contractors. You are responsible for travel costs to and from Anchorage or Fairbanks, AK.
