Corporate Mechanical Integrity Equipment Inspector

Our client, one of Canada's leading chemical companies, has an opportunity for self-motivated team player to join the corporate Reliability Engineering Unit team located in Maitland, Ontario.

The primary role is to monitor & assess the mechanical integrity of process equipment & piping on Corporate sites across Ontario for safety & operating reliability & to ensure compliance to jurisdictional requirements, while maximizing operating cost effectiveness.

As part of the Reliability Engineering Unit & working within a fully self-managed team environment, the Mechanical Integrity Inspector is a broad based role. With direct responsibility for the inspection of fixed equipment, including: piping, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, boilers, fired heaters, etc. It is expected that technical reporting with sound recommendations be made to support business unit leadership team operating & turnaround decisions. Strong communication & computer skills (SAP R3,Ultrapipe,Access, Notes) are required for this position.

Certification in at least one of API 510, 570, and 653 is required to perform the duties of this position. Other assets considered valuable are: a valid NB Commission, or CGSB certification in at least two disciplines. Preference will be given to those candidates with a Diploma in Materials/Metallurgical/Welding Engineering Technology, & members of or eligible for OACETT certification. Ten or more years experience in the in-service inspection of operating equipment in either the chemical or petrochemical industries is desired.
