Nearly three decades after the accident at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant highlighted the issue of atomic energy safety, fears of a catastrophic accident or terrorist attack are at the forefront of the debate over whether the nation's oldest nuclear reactor should be allowed to operate for another 20 years.
Supporters don't want to see the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generation Station, its electricity and its hundreds of high-paying jobs vanish. Opponents fear the aging reactor will fail, spewing radiation across a heavily populated area.
