Technical Industries, Inc. recently developed the Visonic 3D pipe imaging ultrasonic system U.S. Patent 7,263,887B2.
The system is the most advanced pipe inspection system available on the market. The Visonic provides 3D image including a tour of the whole pipe. The user is able to read the wall thickness at any location in the pipe, view the manufactring process, obtain the necessary data needed to calculate the burst, collaps and tensile strength of each pipe. Each pipe is made different than others and has it's own characteristics similar to a finger print which can be capared to other pipes in order to track each pipe. Therefore, Visonic will help identify each pipe by comparing it's finger print and view the manufacturing process. Visonic also provides a view of the OD (outside diameter)of the pipe and proivdes the data of each pipe ovality for each 1/4" CSA (Cross Sectional Area) along the length of the pipe and much more.
