New UV LED lamp for fluorescent penetrant and magnetic particle inspection

The new UV LED technology offers several benefits compared to conventional UV glow-discharge lamps: The light emitting diodes (LED) have a high intensity and low power consumption. The LED technology enables a service life of more than 10000 hours, on average five times higher as conventional lamps. UV LED only emits at one wavelength (approx. 365 nm) and risks by UV-B and UV-C are therefore avoided. Furthermore, no additional filter glasses are required to protect from unnecessary wavelengths.

The new UV LED lamp has an intensity of 4500 μW/cm² at a distance of 400 mm and an illuminated area of 120 mm in diameter. Conforming to standards there is no white light. The solid aluminium housing is black anodized, small and portable. The UV lamp, plugs and cables are shock- and waterproof and fulfill IP 65.

The UV LED lamp runs optionally by a pocket-sized rechargeable battery pack or by mains adapter. The powerful 2.700 mAh rechargeable battery ensures a continuous operation of up to 2.5 hours. Low-voltage while working in rechargeable battery mode is shown by blinking LED light. Furthermore, the LED lamp runs with power supplies from vehicles (12 - 30 V). The new UV LED lamp has a low risk category according to the German standard EM 6 and also fulfills the DIN EN ISO 9934-3:2002 standards regarding wavelength, white light and intensity.
