Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. has announced the release of a new ultra-compact
xenon flash lamp module for use in compact spectroscopy instruments for
environmental analysis or medical analysis.

The L12336 series incorporates the lamp's trigger socket into the world's
smallest package for a 2 W xenon flash lamp module, and also offers battery-
powered operation. These features make it an ideal light source for compact
spectroscopy instruments and also position the L12336 for future use in
portable instruments for high-precision environmental monitoring or point-of-
care testing.

The L12336 series will be available to manufacturers of spectroscopy
instruments and medical instruments from September 5, 2012.
