Aviation and Automotive engine visual inspections are best
performed with small diameter probes to assess small, hard-
to-reach
areas. These types of inspections allow for things like
turbine, fuel systems, valves and pistons to be inspected
without having to dismantle the entire engine. Small
diameter probes with cameras and LED lights built into the
tip show live feed of these inspections, and allow these
inspections to be recorded as still images or videos. With
smaller diameter probes more places that have small access
points it will be possible to view. These smaller diameter
probes do tend to be more expensive, harder to manipulate
and more fragile.

The Rigel Ultra Fine (UF) 4mm Video Borescope from
Fiberscope.net is a new addition to the market, with a
rugged probe and an affordable price. This small diameter
probe is built tough to stand up to industrial use, with a
braided metal shell, that is oil, diesel, gas and water
proof. This hand held unit features a two way articulating
tip for more adaptability during inspections.

Fiberscope.net has had success with their Rigel Handheld
Videoscopes, these units are great quality, stand up to wear
and tear well, and some with an affordable price tag. Seeing
the demand for smaller diameter probes, Fiberscope.net
worked to produce a scope that has the same properties that
made the original Rigel so popular, now with a smaller
diameter 4mm probe for more versatility.

PT6 engines from Pratt $ Whitney are reliable and extremely
popular engines in the aviation industry. These engines
require scopes to be 4mm in diameter t be able to access all
the important areas without having to dismantle the entire
engines. Scopes of this diameter can check turbines, fuel
systems, and combustion chambers for normal wear and tear as
well as damage. Regular maintenance that does not require
dismantling will save not only time, but money and increase
safety as issues can be dealt with before they cause
problems.

The Rigel-UF 4mm is a high quality videoscope, and is
available at a price that is very competitive when compared
to other 4mm probes on the market. The CMOS camera chip,
3.5" LCD display screen, built in LEDs and rechargeable Li-
ion battery are all key features of this impressive video
borescope. For more information on this, and other rigid,
video and fiberscopes please contact Fiberscope.net.
