SGS Exhibits at International Pipeline Exposition (IPE) 2014

Pipeline integrity, laboratory services, engineering analysis, technical staffing,
supply chain, SGS Ludwig and Geotechnical services are just some of the services
SGS will showcase to visitors at this year’s International Pipeline Exposition at the
Telus Convention Center, Calgary, Canada, from 30 September to 2 October,
2014.

A first time exhibitor, SGS will exhibit its expertise of inspection tools and
techniques through demonstrations at its booth. These will include:

Corrosion Mapping

SGS will also present a paper at the IPE on October 2 at 8:30 a.m. entitled
"Practical Application of Low Constraint SENT Fracture Toughness Testing for
Pipeline Girth Welds." The presentation will discuss aspects of a relatively new
method of fracture toughness testing, the Single Edge-Notched Tensile test,
which may become increasingly useful in assessment of flaws in pipeline girth
welds. Particular emphasis will be placed on issues surrounding test temperature
and interpretation of fracture toughness transition temperature results.
