Danatronics Releases New Software Features for Echo FD
Posted:
Danatronics Corporation is pleased announce the latest software updates for our new portable ultrasonic flaw detector, ECHO FD. Our new ECHO series continues to receive tremendous worldwide response for its size, fast display update rate (60 Hz.), weight, battery life, ease of use and, most importantly, price. The latest ECHO FD software features and improvements include:

DAC

Distance Amplitude Correction, also known as DAC, is a commonly recognized flaw detection technique to assist in sizing defects. Typically, a DAC block is used with a known reflector size at varying depths. The attenuation curve is drawn so that the same size flaws, deeper in the material can be corrected for.

DAC (Distance Amplitude Correction) currently available in ASME, ASME-3 (3 levels of curves- shown here) and JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard).

AWS

AWS, once calibrated and the angle and reference gain are entered, displays the calculations for the D value along with A and C in the three measurement boxes. These calculations are used in the AWS code as it relates to flaw sizes.

ECHO FD has 4 default stored setups and allows you to save up to 1800 custom stored application setups. This allows the operator to instantly switch probes for fast and repeatable inspections.

Stored Setups

1800 setup files can easily be added for future recall to ensure accurate and fast inspection time

Flaw Detection and Precision Thickness Gaging

ECHO FD is the smallest hand held ultrasonic flaw detector capable of combining corrosion and precision thickness gaging up to 1 micron resolution in one unit.

Please visit us at the NACE conference March 27-30 in New Orleans, booth number 2222 to learn more about ECHO FD.

For existing ECHO FD users, simply go to the support tab of our website, download the latest version of data xl and then the latest operating software for ECHO FD. It's simple and it's FREE! Stay tuned for more updates on ECHO FD as we move on to our extensive datalogger with B-scan and grid view.
