TESTIA and Acellent establish an MOU for Acousto-Ultrasonic Structural Health Monitoring

Acellent Technologies Inc. and TESTIA GmbH are pleased to announce a collaboration between the companies via a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for installation, marketing and commercialization of Acellent’s Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) products.

TESTIA, an Airbus company, is a leader in NDT services and quality services for aerospace and other industries in Germany, Europe and worldwide and is seeking to expand its range of SHM services that help to decrease the downtime of aircraft in service, enable predictive maintenance and reduce recurring maintenance costs. Acellent is a leader in the design, development, and manufacturing of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) Systems and is looking to expand its marketing and distributor network for its Structural Health Monitoring products.

Based on the synergy of objectives, the companies have established an MOU as follows:

• TESTIA will become a world-wide distributor, installer and integrator of Acellent’s acousto-ultrasonic SMART Layer based SHM systems.
• TESTIA will provide manpower and technical expertise to directly assist customers in usage of Acellent’s Acousto Ultrasonic technology for their applications.
• TESTIA will also provide access for Acellent to the SHM Verification & Validation ("V&V") Center for SHM at the Airbus Material & Process department in Bremen, Germany for any testing.
• TESTIA will support Acellent with creating commercially viable business cases with potential customers.
• TESTIA will work with Acellent to develop and promote concepts as to how Acellent products can be sold, licensed, installed and maintained, worldwide.
• Acellent will apprise TESTIA on current capabilities of its products and will directly involve, and engage, TESTIA in interactions with potential aerospace and other customers, worldwide.
• TESTIA will represent Acellent as a full function service provider to promote, install and maintain Acellent’s SHM products worldwide.
• Acellent will use TESTIA primarily as a services provider for installation, maintenance and measurement for projects related to aerospace, worldwide that both companies are doing together
• Acellent will also empower TESTIA to act on their behalf for key projects that both companies are doing together.
