NDT Classroom Online Courses Now Offered by American Welding Society
Posted:
NDT Classroom, Inc., the premier online training company for nondestructive testing (NDT), today announced that it has partnered with the American Welding Society (AWS) to offer online NDT classes to AWS’s membership of over 73,000 professionals worldwide.

This partnership stems from an effort to expand opportunities for those interested in furthering their career by adding NDT education and certifications to their skill set. With NDT Classroom’s courses now being offered to members through the AWS website, both organizations believe that this partnership will improve job-related productivity and effectiveness across engineering platforms and increase earning potential in related fields.

Pioneered by NDT industry legends Chuck Hellier and Jim Treat, NDT Classroom offers easily accessible, affordable, and effective courses that make a lasting impact. With classes available in all major NDT methods, NDT Classroom delivers key advantages for students, employers, and educational institutes to meet their training needs without the added costs and extended time requirements of traditional classroom training.

Courses are taught by industry experts and use high-definition video that simulates real-world situations and techniques, visually placing the learner side-by-side with the instructor. Plus, students can access the materials whenever they want, again and again, insuring higher retention rates and on-the-job knowledge. It’s online learning that works.

Why this partnership? Not only are the two disciplines naturally complementary, but by partnering the premier welding society with the industry leader in online NDT education, AWS members can further their career without having to take time out of the field to travel or bear the burden of expensive training schools. Additionally, a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) who understands different NDT techniques adds more value to a job because they can more thoroughly identify core problems that affect an asset’s fitness for service and safety.

According to Chuck Hellier: "At NDT Classroom, we see things from a holistic standpoint – many NDT techniques are connected to welding, allied joining, and cutting processes, so pairing knowledge of the two in a cost-effective way simply makes sense. AWS members can enjoy greater job opportunities by adding NDT certifications and employers can benefit from having more skilled technicians on the job. This is a win-win scenario for everyone involved."

Commenting on the announcement, Patrick Henry, Corporate Director, Education Services for the American Welding Society said: "AWS is committed to providing our members with opportunities for growth and higher learning, so adding NDT courses from an online training provider that already has a proven and impressive track record is a smart and strategic extension of what our organization already offers."
