YXLON Receives Global Technology Award for CT Inspection
Posted:
YXLON International, a company of the Swiss tech holding, COMET Group, has received a 2017 Global Technology Award in the category of Inspection – X-ray for its YXLON FF35 CT multi-application, high-resolution computed tomography (CT) inspection system for fine parts. The award was presented to the company during a ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 that took place during productronica in Munich, Germany. The FF35 CT brings a new dimension to electronics X-ray, allowing users to benefit from technology revolutionary in our industry.

Manufactured in Germany, the YXLON FF35 CT brings NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) expertise to the world of micro-electronics. This system enables CT inspection of a broad range of components. Everything from wafer-level parts up to complete assembly can be captured in a single image, allowing the operator to easily zoom in on the sub-micron level in the 3D reconstruction. The 3D reconstruction is rendered in real time, creating digital visualizations very quickly. The system is also equipped with market-leading software, ensuring that even sub-micron features can be viewed and measured easily.

Remote monitoring with push messages is another process simplifier. This allows users to check the system from a distance and receive real-time information on a mobile device or phone so that monitoring is available 24/7. The FF35 CT also has an automatic collision protection system (Intelliguard) that allows images to be captured at the closest possible points and thus at the highest magnification, without any damage to either the CT system or the object being viewed.

„After having received the German Design Award 2018 for our new CT systems' user interface ‚Geminy‘ just last month, our pride is twofold with the reception of the Global Technology Award", said Jan Tamm, Head of Product Management YXLON International. "These prizes clearly prove that our developments meet current user requirements and we have yet again been able to set new standards in industrial X-ray and CT inspection technology."

Debuting in 2005, the Global Technology Awards program is an annual celebration of product excellence in electronics surface mount assembly. Premier products based on the finest examples of creative advancement in technology are chosen by a distinguished panel of industry experts.
