Mechanical - roles and responsibilities included but were not limited to mechanical maintenance and breakdowns on the central, (manned), platforms and the Normally Unattended Installations. This relates to Caterpillar, Deutz, Lister, Cummins, Ford, Mercedes, and Perkins engines. Air compressors, Pumps, Production Valves, Cranes, Fixed lifting equipment, Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems. Carrying out periodic tests / examinations on safety critical items such as Sub Surface Safety Valves, Emergency Shutdown Systems, Safety critical valves i.e. ESD valves, Well Head Control Panels etc.
Raising purchase orders for replacement and spare parts to ensure correct technical content is included. This formed part of the overall documentation and record keeping duties associated with my position.
I was also appointed the focal point for all cranes and lifting equipment on the Leman field Normally Unattended Installations, this includes all logistics, pricing and follow up concerned with the regular maintenance. Projects such as engine replacement, quadrennial refits, test and inspection and repairs on National, Stothert and pitt, Roto, Liebherr and Hagglunds Kenz cranes.
Process - General running of the process and production equipment, including Glycol dehydration plant, contactors, skimmers, separators, gas and diesel generators, working as a shift process and plant operator. This included working as the sole operator within the platform. Also within this role I was called upon to act as permit to work issuing authority for my shift taking responsibility for all works carried out within the platform.
Offshore installation manager – I was appointed as Offshore Installation Manager for the ten Leman Field Normally Unattended Installations: - 49/27 B, 49/27 C, 49/27 D, 49/27 E, 49/27 F, 49/27 G, 49/27 H, 49/27 J, Camelot A and Camelot B.
