Shaw Tulsa Fabricators-Tulsa Ok (Jan 2009-May 2009)

Position: Quality Auditor
Responsible to the General Manager for auditing of all departments with regard to safety, quality & production. Primary focus of this assignment was to prepare the company for a joint review of their quality system by ASME in order to obtain their “PP” code stamp. Reviewed their existing quality manual and audited each department’s adherence to the manual; issuing Corrective Action Requests to each department head as applicable. Followed up by auditing the corrective action implementation by each department, as applicable; and recommended revision of the quality manual as required to meet current code requirements.

Contract Inspector-Tulsa, OK (Jul 2008-Jan 2009)

Performed 3rd party contract inspection services for various clients in the Tulsa area and various jobsites across the country. Performed visual and dimensional inspections & witness testing of completed equipment for refineries and petrochemical plants. Issued electronic activity reports detailing these activities to the various clients and worked with suppliers to deliver equipment in on-time and in accordance with P.O. specifications.


Shaw Tulsa Fabricators-Tulsa Ok (Jan 2007-Jun 2008)

Position: Production Manager
Responsible to the General Manager for all aspects of plant operations. Responsible for the interview and hiring of new employees. Scheduling of shop loading, and day to day operations. Responsible for safety, quality, and production; in that order. I have been the line supervisor for over 150 employees. I have overseen the operation from startup; and increased the number of staff from less than 15 welding operators to over 50 at this time. I developed a welder training program with a curriculum based upon the specific needs of the company. I have increased production from 600 spools per month to nearly 2000 per month. I have trained floor supervisors to a level where they can perform their day-to- day duties.

Victory Energy Operations, LLC-Collinsville, OK (November 2005 to January 2007)

Position: Quality Control Manager
Duties: Responsible to President and General Manager for the development, and implementation of the quality control system at VEO’s fabrication facility in Collinsville, OK, various jobsite installation locations across the US & Canada, and all sub-supplier’s providing boilers and related equipment to VEO projects. Responsible for the maintenance of ASME code programs for the “S”, “U”, & “R” stamps. Responsible for day to day management of the quality control staff of shop inspectors, and source inspectors assigned to the quality control department, both in the Collinsville facility, and field projects.

Responsible for preparation of ASME data reports and coordination with Authorized Inspectors. Responsible for development and qualification of VEO welding procedure specifications and welding operator qualification records. Responsible for development and implementation of project specific Inspection & Test Plans for each project beginning with contract review, and continuing through order completion and final payment upon submittal of final data packages. Worked as a member of VEO’s management team to meet customer requirements for on time deliveries, including development and implementation of recovery plans as required.

Receiving inspection, visual and dimensional inspection of work in progress against EEC approved drawings, quality plans, and QC Manual. Responsible for inspection of items in the fit-up stage, prior to welding as well as monitoring adherence to approved WPS’, and documented fabrication procedures. Responsible for inspection and release of equipment to advance from one fabrication phase to the next. Position: Combination Fitter/Welder
Duties: Responsible for layout, fit-up, and welding of medium to large pressure vessels and tray towers. Performance qualified in the GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW processes for carbon, and stainless steel alloys. Participated in the “team leader” program, in being responsible for the planning and execution all aspects of the fabrication from start to finish. Worked in a support role to Fabwell’s quality control inspector.

Position: Regional Manager, Supplier Quality Surveillance
Duties: Execution of Inspection and Shop Expediting assignments in addition to line management of all Tulsa based SQS personnel.
Inspection-Execution of Surveillance/Inspection assignments in accordance with client requirements as set forth in the surveillance assignment instructions including:
conduct Supplier Quality Alignment Meetings, review of supplier & sub-supplier quality plans, review documentation including material certifications, welding procedures and welder qualifications, and supplier NDE records & final data packages, in-process and final visual and dimensional inspection of all items to the degree set forth in the assignment plan, witness testing as required for all types of material and fabricated equipment. Certified per ANSI 45.26 standards to conduct surveillance on the following equipment: pressure vessels including trayed columns, prefabricated piping systems, both air-cooled & shell & tube heat exchangers, valves with actuators, steam boilers, structural steel, and shop installed refractory linings, and skid mounted specialty equipment. Worked closely with suppliers to meet client quality requirements while maintaining schedule.
Supervision-Provided management of field personnel in the execution of inspection and expediting assignments in the central US region. Balanced workloads of up to 12 staff members, including coverage as required by conflicting travel schedules of all involved parties. Worked with operation center management to meet all goals required of the various projects in a cost efficient manner. Reported to home office monthly on all ongoing activities in the region with forecasts of impending workload levels and staffing requirements. Interview and hire personnel as required to maintain sufficient staffing to service all current projects.

Duties: Worked in every department within the company at various times as a member of the production staff, and management team in addition to my final position as quality control inspector. I participated in the (re)start-up of the company after becoming a non-union facility. I have extensive knowledge of the pipe fabrication industry from detailing of drawings, contract review, materials procurement, scheduling, production management, and shipping. I have a working knowledge of all aspects of the Tulsa facility.

The bulk of my experience has been in 3rd party inspection and shop supervision in the Tulsa, OK area but I am currently looking for a long term jobsite assignment somehwere in the US.
