EXPERIENCE:
Quality Control Inventory Management/ASNT-TC-1A Certified NDT Level II Technician:
Loveman Steel Corporation (05-27-09 – Present):
I was hired in at the Loveman Steel Corporation to establish and manage the Quality Control Non-Destructive Testing Inspection program which involved creating the company’s NDT quality control processes-methods, procedures and specification criteria’s that was required to be followed. I single handedly, perform the UT/MPI/LPI NDT Inspections. This saves the company a substantial expense they were spending on outside NDT Inspection contractors. I also streamlined the NDT Reports by creating an electronic UT/LPI/MPI inspection report (form) excel database filing system, which could be easily accessed and converted to a hardcopy NDT report when requested by a customer or upper management. Furthermore, I review all Mill Test Reports for the proper steel plate chemistry, brinnell hardness, tensile strength and heat treating. I manage and maintain mill test reports certifications in an electronic filing database and cross reference hardcopy filing system.
Moreover, I was also hired in a Loveman Steel Corporation to manage the incoming and outgoing steel plate inventory system which was previously at the time inadequate in tracking the steel plate inventory. I established a system which would entailed stocking in incoming plates by having specifically assigned personnel measuring the actual thickness with a digital micrometer; along with, measuring the actual width and length of every plate. Once the dimensions of each plate are measured, an individual plate number would be assigned to that plate(s). Then those particular assigned personnel would submit a receiving inventory control ticket to me for entering this information in our inventory control electronic data base system. After this information was entered electronically, the hardcopy receiving ticket was filed in the file cabinet system for cross reference (back-up) in case of any inaccurate data was received on the inventory ticket. Once any inventory plate was burned or cut on, reducing the size of that particular plate, it would be recorded on special processing ticket, that particular ticket would be submitted to me for reduction in the quality control electronic database inventory system; along with, the processing ticket (hardcopy) being filed in the inventory filing cabinet for future reference if needed. This more accurate accountability plate inventory system saves the company money by knowing exactly was in stock in order to except customer orders and knowing when to re-order more inventory for that particular thickness, width and length needed for future orders.
