Worked with the Quality Control Group on construction of four Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG’s). Performed weld inspections in accordance with ASME Section 1, ASME B31.1, API 1104, and AWS D1.1 codes. NDE coordination with 3rd party contractor and reviewed the radiography film and reader sheets for acceptance. Coordinated preheat and PWHT with 3rd party contractor and oversaw subcontractor welding and fabrication. Created weld maps, welding examination reports, NDE request, and PWHT request. Assisted craft boilermakers and pipe fitters in understanding isometric drawings to ensure that pressure parts were being fabricated correctly to the isometrics and project specifications. Problem solved welding issues involved with P1, P4, P5A, P5B (P15E), and P8 materials. Closely monitored the preparation, preheat, welding, and PWHT of 9Cr-1Mo-V (P5B (P15E) material.


Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm Project, August 2009 – November 2009

Construction and quality assurance on a 90 day business assignment to support the QA/QC department for repairing and fit-out works of monopiles and transition pieces for 140 Siemens 3.6 megawatt wind turbines. Supervised the NDE of two 3rd party contractors, monitored and inspected subcontractor welding and fit-out works, reviewed subcontractor welding procedures, and troubleshoot welding issues with regards to the transverse cracks occurring from hydrogen deposits in the welds.




Luminent Oak Grove Steam Electric Station, June 2007 – August 2009

Quality assurance of two 800 megawatt supercritical lignite fired boilers. Performed weld inspection in accordance with ASME Section 1, ASME B31.1, and AWS D1.1 codes. Coordinated NDE with 3rd party contractor, oversaw subcontractor welding and fabrication as well as Fluor craft labor, and reviewed subcontractor welding procedures. Supervised and coordinated welding test shop activities to ASME Section IX and managed the upkeep of welder qualification records. Oversaw hydro tests and pneumatic air tests of various systems. Monitored six rod rooms for proper filler material control. Assisted craft workers in understanding isometric drawings and weld symbols. Problem solved welding issues involved with P1, P3, P4, P5A, P8, and P10H materials. Monitored and inspected the fabrication of High Density Polyethylene Pipe. Created weld maps, welding examination reports, NDE request, PWHT request, and weekly/monthly NDE reports for the project. NDE methods: visual, dye penatrant, radiographic film interpretation, destructive and non-destructive testing.

Quality assurance at several coal and gas fired power plants throughout Texas and at Pasadena Refinery Systems Inc. in Pasadena Texas.
