OBJECTIVE:
Acquire experience in the construction industry with the ultimate goal of
completing certifications in the NDT field and advancing my career in that
area.
To Whom It May Concern:
Thank you for taking the time to look at my resume. I know that I may not be
an exact fit for any positions you may be seeking to fill, but it is my hope to
gain a foothold in the Non-Destructive Testing field
Twenty years ago, I worked with Brown & Root as a laborer and had the
pleasure of spending several weeks with the NDT technicians. I was very
interested in what the team was doing and considered entering the field
myself. Unfortunately, I did not follow up on that interest and I’ve regretted it
ever since. I have done many things since then, most recently working in the
satellite industry. I’ve worked with computers much of the last 20 years, and
even run a profitable home business.
While many people my age would be leveraging their experience in one
career, pushing for supervisory roles or upper level management, I have
chosen to reinvent myself and pursue a career in Non-Destructive Testing.
That is the goal I have set for myself to accomplish within the next 24 months.
To that end, I am seeking an entry level position with a company that will
allow me to gain valuable experience while giving them 110% of my personal
best until such time as I can get certified.
I have experience and recent certifications in areas that will benefit your
company, including forklift, crane, and rigger certifications. I also have
current TWIC and OSHA cards, a clean background, MVR, and the ability to
travel for extended periods if necessary. This will benefit you by reducing the
training time and costs associated with new hires.
If you have a position available, if you know someone in the industry that
needs a helper, gopher, or other entry level position, please give me a call. I
am willing to relocate and eager to get started.
Thank you for for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
R. Edward McCain
