1980 to 1983 High School and County Technical Institute
Academic curriculum. Three years of advanced architectural/mechanical drafting involving surveying plot plans, electrical and plumbing schematics, exterior and interior design, construction and building regulations.
Participated on the varsity bowling and golf teams.
1983 to 1984 College State Campus: Mechanical Engineering
Studied heat stress and metal expansion properties with advanced math and physics.
9/85 to 3/86 County Technical Institute: Machinist
A night course on machinist tool making and metal fabrication. An in depth study on using and reading precision measuring instruments plus on-hands use of milling machines, lathes and other various metal working tools.
6/07 to8/07 Community College Industry Center: Ultrasonics
An 80-hour course involving Level I and Level II ultrasound training for weld and metal inspections. Hands on practical training with test specimens and calibration standards. All testing and qualification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A. Welding practices and AWS D1.1 codes were also covered in the course.
2009/2010 Magnetic Particle & Dye Penetrate
Level II MT & PT classes held on site with current employer. All training administered by ASNT Level III certified instructors per SNT-TC-1A
11/2010 RSO for X-Ray and Industrial Radiography
A certified on-site course administered by Health Physics Professionals for RSO training.
8/2012 Ultrasonics University
A 40 hour course on Advanced Phased Array ultrasonic theory and practices. Training administered by ASNT Level III instructors.
Experience
10/06 to Present NDT Manager
Responsibilities include overseeing the daily NDT operations for weld/plate inspections at a pipe manufacturing facility. UT and RT to API specifications.
Other responsibilities include; Controlling certifications on equipment and technicians, Constructing and implementing NDT testing procedures, Perform employee quality audits, Form NDT quality testing plans for customer orders, Lead NDT customer contact Q/A individual during pre-production and acceptance meetings.
Facility RSO; includes employee radiation safety training, monitoring & surveying boundaries for compliance, TLD DRD and portable area device accountability, film processor maintenance. Daily NDT employee management. Lead NDT inspector at adjacent Fabrication Shop. This includes UT, MT, PT & VT in accordance with AWS D1.1, D1.5, ASTM, and ASME
Current certifications are Level II UT, MT, PT per ASNT SNT-TC 1A, PA/UT and AWS VT (some RT)
8/99 to 4/09 Small Businesses Owner
Owner of a business within the Motorsports industry.
Handled every aspect from R&D work to actual machining of components. Fill and ship parts orders while controlling parts inventory. Designed and maintained company website.

Set up and edit production runs on CNC Lathes. Also performed the final sizing and QC inspections of the parts before shipment. Handled all PC entry with CNC editing/set-up.

2/90 to 6/96 Quality Control Inspector
QC inspector at companies that specialized in the production test specimens for destructive testing; the production of investment castings and the manufacturing of industrial size mixers & blenders.

Trained on most machine shop equipment to make alterations to the specimens for final approval.
Computer Spectrum Analyzer Operator, to insure alloys contained the proper balance of elements.

2/87 to 2/90 Rad-waste/Health Physics
Survey and Decontaminate radioactive areas within an “on line” operational Nuclear Power Plant.
High level security access complying with 10CFR code regulations. Responsibilities included minor surface contamination decon to surveying High Radiation locked entry areas in the reactor and turbine buildings.
Operated the “Fit Booth” to test incoming personnel for proper respirator sealing. This also included inventory accountability and re-certification of respirators and air packs.
Rad and HP training was on-site.
