I have worked in all areas of heavy structural steel fabrication shops, building components for
power plants, chemical plants, on and offshore drilling rigs, bridges, and commercial heavy steel
for most any other application. Excellent at reading and interpreting blue print drawings,
customer specifications, and extensive use of AWS D1.1 welding code and AISC standards.
Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel for accurate and complete documentation.
Over 6 years as QA/QC manager in charge of a department of 15 QC Inspectors overseeing all
areas of fit, weld, NDE, vendors, company audits to AISC, ISO, API Q1, and API 4F. Daily customer
interactions to ensure satisfaction of completed and in-process orders including kick-off meetings,
communication with customer inspectors, engineers, project, production and safety managers.
Accessed companywide Corrective Actions and strove to correct deficiencies with management
team and executive management. Knowledgeable in paint and galvanizing applications.
Performed NDT inspections and interpreted results in MT, PT, UT, and VT as well as having
established a successful in-house NDT department. Worked closely with several major firms
including Jacobs, NOV, Flour, Shell, CB&I, and Exxon and became familiar with their quality
requirements. Been responsible for welder qualifications, weld procedures, and operating
procedures as well as developing QMS programs per applicable certifications. I have welded, fit,
and metal prepped including running a CNC drill line—my inspection experience came from hands
on training not just observation.
