• Skilled in testing for defects in a wide variety of materials to include: undercutting, porosity, inclusions, machining defects, casting defects, and stress cracks.
• Able to standardize, manipulate and interpret pulse-echo, through-transmission and immersion ultrasonic methods/equipment to detect cracks and measure thickness with shear wave, longitudinal wave, and surface wave transducers/wedges.
• Able to standardize eddy current equipment, including probes and fixtures for crack detection, metal sorting, and conductivity testing in multiple equipment configurations and set ups.
• Proficiency in developing/reading radiographs for welding certification inspection program for metals such as aluminum, magnesium, titanium, and cobalt, as well as detection for water entrapment and crushed core in bonded structures, and crack/corrosion detection.
• Extensive experience with magnetic particle amperage selection, crack detection and demagnetizing requirements. Capable of performing inspections with Parker Probe (magnetic yoke), central bar conductors, and coil with circular and longitudinal magnetism.
• Proficiency with solvent removable and post-emulsifiable/hydrophic penetrant inspection methods. Able to interpret and verify inspection findings.
• Proficient in analyzing technical data, drawings, mathematical equations and charts, and developing, testing, and publishing new procedures.
• Highly experienced Program Manager of oil analysis/spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscope/Energy Dispersing X-Ray laboratory with proficiency in theory of operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation. In-depth kno- wledge of engine wear-metal criteria, corrective actions, and follow-up. Utilized vast knowledge of computer and organization skills to maintain section inspection records, both electronic and paper, of 88 F-16 aircraft.

EXPERIENCE

May 2008- August 2012, United States Air Force, Nondestructive Inspection Journeyman

• Pinpointed F110 forward engine bay bracket; detected .25-inch fatigue crack – repair saved Air Force $4.3 million.
• Inspected F-16 RAM diverter repair; verified post maintenance structural integrity and returned $18.8 million dollar asset to service.
• Evaluated critical F-16 341 bulkhead inspection; extended the part service and saved Air Force $ 3 million dollars.
• Located F-16 upper strake crack; coordinated with engineers to approve new inspection. Inspection saved the Air Force $ 48 million dollars.
• Detected cracked breech bolt in F-16 20MM gun to prevent in flight malfunction. Detection saved the Air Force $205 K.
