Our client is looking for a certified weld inspector for thier manufacturing facility in Charleston SC. The QA Weld Inspector ensures that the Quality Management System is capable and fully implemented through a system of verification and validation audits and studies. Principal Responsibilities include: Knowledge of mechanical inspection measurement equipment, Visual Inspection of parts and documentation of the findings, Ability to read blue prints, ability to interpret engineering prints and quality standards. Should have the ability to measure welded components and being capable of interpreting the data, using hard gauging to measure components.

High School Graduate or equivalent. Should have a minimum of one (1) year experience with manufacturing and quality. Three (3) years weld experience preferred and (2) years inspection experience preferred. Should have Fit inspection of various fabricated parts along with Welding experience to meet AWS D1.1 requirements. Quality welding experience desired and experienced with automotive and/or ISO quality systems. CWI preferred or the ability to acquire CWI within 1 year of employment. Microsoft application knowledge required. Good Communication skills – verbal and written- required.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Need to be familiar with AWS D1.1 code. ASNT TC1A qualification preferred but not required. Must have Weld Symbol and Fabrication Drawing reading skills.
