Works under the general supervision of a scientist or engineer. Conducts materials sample preparation, testing, interprets results and creates basic test reports. Possess certifications and formal training in specific areas.


· Plans schedule of testing according to company’s or contracting organization’s timetable, and establishes daily or weekly routines necessary to meet project timetable.
· Conducts sample preparation and testing using laboratory equipment.
· Prepares reports of completed projects for distribution to clients.
· Maintains equipment used in testing
· Adheres to departmental quality plan, meets quality objectives, and provides data for establishment of statistical quality measurables
· Develop radiography techniques and conduct film and real time radiography.
· Conduct Fluorescent Dye Penetrant Testing & Evaluation(ASTM E1417)
· Conduct mechanical testing to include; tension, compression, Rockwell Hardness, micro-hardness
· Prepare analytical test reports
· Provide customer interface

Associates degree (A.A.) from a Technical or Community College with five to fifteen years related experience in aerospace, ASME, AWS or ASTM environments and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years experience as ASNT Level II, RT & PT methods. ASNT NDT Level III, RT & PT methods preferred.
