We are searching for a Quality Engineer with 5 plus years of experience working in a close tolerance production manufacturing environment. Our client produces precision machined engine, suspension and transmission components. Past experience in machining is preferred, however, not required. We will consider candidates with experience in stamping, molding, casting, forging, cold heading, fastener, fluid power or fabricated automotive components. Interested candidates will need experience in the use of measuring hand tools, gauges, cmm and various metrology lab equipment. CMM programming and experience with surface plate layouts is preferred. The Quality Engineer will work with customers, work on new product launches and ensure product quality. Past experience developing inspection / gauge plans for in-process and final inspections is needed. Knowledge of APQP and AIAG protocols to prepare PFMEA, PPAP, control plans and work instructions is also needed. Candidates should have experience conducting gauge R&R, calculating RPN and capability studies. Good problem solving skills using 8-D and 5Why methodology is required. The ideal candidate will be hands on and have the ability to work with associates at all levels. Knowledge of internal auditing is preferred.

MUST HAVE: 5 plus years of quality engineering in a production automotive manufacturing environment. Knowledge of APQP requirements and experience preparing FMEA, PPAP, control plan and work instruction documents is needed. The ideal candidate will have experience using CMM and plant layouts. Strong metrology, communication, organization and follow skills is required. Past experience working in a precision machining environment is preferred.
