Tool Designer – progressive stamping, die design, high speed, OEM

A major industrial OEM is launching several new product lines and investing in new capital equipment. Their product line is sold to a large variety of industries such as the machine tool, lawn & garden, industrial equipment, appliance, automotive, fluid power, heavy off road and many other markets globally. We are searching for a TOOL DESIGN ENGINEER to support their high speed progressive stamping department. This engineer will need experience designing smaller progressive dies and tooling. Past experience designing progressive dies in a high speed stamping environment is preferred. Our client typically stamps components at 300 to 600 strokes per minute. The ideal candidate will need a minimum of 5 years of experience designing progressive stamping dies. The Tool Design Engineer will need Gd&T, cad design, good troubleshooting skills, process development, product launch experience, vendor interaction and good communication skills. Most of our client’s progressive stampings will fit in your hand. Candidates who have designed smaller progressive dies are preferred. Knowledge of Solidworks, cad software is a plus, but not required. We will consider both degreed or non degreed candidates with progressive stamping die design experience. Past hands on problem solving and debugging experience is a plus.

MUST HAVE: a minimum of 5 years of experience designing progressive stamping dies. Past experience developing processes, supporting production, designing tooling, interacting with cross functional teams, launching new products and working with vendors is needed. Knowledge of Solidworks is preferred. Tool Design Engineers who have designed smaller progressive dies in a high speed stamping environment are strongly preferred.
