Job Description:

This position will be responsible for multi-site compliance for all corporate NDT functions. This includes:

• Management of documentation and policies as they relate to various customer and industry certifications and compliance for multi-site NDT operations.
• Manage and comply with all customer specific requirements with regards to the NDT process.
• Utilize mag particle and dye penetrant techniques to determine usability of new and in-service components.
• Maintain an awareness and understanding of all applicable regulations, codes, standards and specifications, as well as company policies and procedures; complete any training necessary to support these activities and communicate these requirements to affected branch personnel as necessary.
• Serve as Thomas Instrument’s NDT representative to various customer forums, NADCAP Certification activities, ASNT and other organizations as needed.
• Prepare for certification audits, customer audits, and internal system audits.
• Communicate with customers on technical and program issues regarding NDT. Provide training, as necessary, to affected personnel, including customers, to obtain program compliance, process efficiency and effectiveness, cooperation and positive morale.
• Develop/Support Training initiatives for all in house NDT personnel to obtain and maintain corporate/industry compliance.
• Participate in other general administrative and technical activities such as cost reduction methods, communications, safety, housekeeping and employee training.
• Complete projects and tasks in a timely manner, even when non-standard work hours are required.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:


Skills
• Ability to utilize NDT techniques in mag particle and dye penetrant inspection techniques to detect service/manufacturing caused indications.
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to use precision tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, contracts and engineering reports.
• Ability to effectively interface with customers, team members and individuals with technical discussions and solutions.


Knowledge

• Must possess a current ASNT NDT Level III Certificate for the responsible methodologies (MP & LP).
• High School diploma or GED
• FAA certifications a plus.
• 2 year Degree in Mechanical or technical field of understanding of the principles of mechanics, or equivalent experience preferred.


Experience

• Experience with reading and interpreting Technical Orders and 2-D Cad drawings/schematics/diagrams
• Experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System preferred.
• Knowledge of the following specifications are strong plus: ASTM E1417, ASTM 1444, SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-189 and NAS 410.
• Experience with adaptive problem solving approach and implementing solutions.
• Experience in providing support to engineering, project management, production, overhaul, and mechanical engineering team members.
