The Level 2 Technician will be performing calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and record results. Technician is qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Familiar with the scope and limitations of the method of NDT being used and should exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of assistants and Level 1 Technicians. Organize and report results of NDT, develop work instructions from approved general or customer procedures; such work instruction shall require the approval of the Method L3.
Must be a certified NDT Level 2 Inspector (Penetrant): Liquid Penetrant Inspection: 32 hours of documented and record of formal training for NAS 410. Must re-certify every 5 years to NAS 410 requirements. Must have experience using hand tools such as, but not limited to calipers, micrometers, drop indicators and feeler gauges.
Skills:
•Must be a certified NDT Level 2 Inspector in Penetrant and Magnetic Particle.
•Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
•Should have Method A and Method B experience
•Knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
•Basic understanding of ISO regulations, and product testing methods.
•Ability to work within a team environment and build relationships outside of the department.
•Ability to effectively communicate technical information both orally and in written form.
•High deadline and result orientation.
•Demonstrates characteristics of high potential for future development.
•Strong work ethic dependable exceptional safety and quality awareness mechanical aptitude, adaptable to changing schedules.
•Exceptional attention to detail, team work, ability to follow directions and procedures, willingness to travel, working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time, work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold Work in and near industrial hazards.
•Must pass a Certification exam.
•Must pass written, oral, and performance tests for re-certification at established intervals to NAS410 requirements.
•Ability to follow written procedures explicitly in performing penetrant inspections.
•Maintain accurate written records.
•Perform basic mathematical and algebraic calculations.
•Very conscientious attitude is required and a very detail oriented personality.
