Acuren Inspection, Inc. is currently recruiting for experienced Lead and Second Pipeline Integrity (‘PLI’) Inspectors. Locations will vary throughout North America, primarily in the US.

Reporting to the PLI Division Manager, PLI Inspectors use broad based knowledge of cathodic protection, coatings, geology, and inspection skills and techniques to assess damage mechanisms, determine root cause, and identify customer repair criteria of pipeline assets. Positions require superior analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure that all client specific requirements have been met.

Successful candidates will have:
1) Ability to work and communicate with personnel from broad based backgrounds and experiences
2) Ability to travel for extended durations (4-8 weeks), while working in exposed conditions – role will be 90% field based
3) Attention to detail and ability to document and communicate observations and findings to remote personnel daily
4) Ability to meet tight client timelines and deliverables with strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook in particular) as extensive time will be spent using various computer programs to support assessment activity; reporting will include but not be limited to
a. executive summaries, written forms, photographs, data input, soils and corrosion sampling
5) Experience validating (assessment and reporting) corrosion, crack, deformation and manufacturing defects identified through in-line inspection process
6) Broad based pipeline knowledge (pipe manufacturing techniques, coating types, cathodic protection systems, damage mechanisms, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:
1) Prior experience as a Pipeline Integrity technician with experience assessing corrosion, crack and deformation digs and responsibility for writing final reports
2) Documented NDT experience and training records to meet the following minimum Level II certifications: Magnetic Particle (Yoke), Ultrasonics (Straight Beam/Lam Scans)
a. Preference given for personnel holding current advanced ultrasonic Level II certifications (Shearwave, PAUT, ToFD, automated corrosion mapping) with crack sizing and detection training and experience
3) Ability to work under DOT regulated interstate pipeline programs
4) Ability to pass pre-employment screening
5) Experience supervising dig programs
6) Superior communication skills (both oral and written)
7) Organizational and time management skills
8) Interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor junior inspectors

Preferred Qualifications:
1) NACE training/certifications (CP or CIP)
2) Laser scanning experience using either Handyscan laser systems (with Pipecheck software) or Intelligent Pipeline Technologies line scanner
3) Wesdyne AMDATA experience
