Duties and Responsibilities
Monitors, oversees and has responsibility for the QMS throughout the organization, including remote sites.
Continuously promotes the use and utilization of the QMS and all associated policies and procedures throughout the Corporation.
Reviews needs of the QMS and recommends any needed changes to comply with customer and/or industry related regulatory requirements with executive management.
Researches, develops, and/or approves all corporate policies and procedures for use.
Ensures corporate processes and/or products are established, implemented, measured, monitored, and maintained.
Performs corporate QA/ISO Internal and External Training.
Leads internal audits and coordinates and supports external audits of the Corporation.
Evaluates audit findings and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Serves as the certifying authority for SSPC QP-1, ISO 9001:2015, Welders, Braziers, NDT Inspectors and corporate procedures.
In concert with the Project Management Team, develops required test memorandums (TM) and Process Control Procedures (PCP) and ensures conformance to customer requirements.
Ensures subcontractors qualifications meet Corporate, customer and/or regulatory and QMS requirements prior to utilization
Regularly interacts and provides input to Project Management team with respect to specific quality requirements to the project level and assigns appropriate QA support team.
Promotes knowledge and awareness of customer and/or interested party requirements throughout the corporation.
Oversees the development, adherence to and control of contract Test and Inspections Plans (TIP)
Oversees the development of QA Workbooks
Ensures all Complaint Reports (CARs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Preventive Action Requests (PARs), and audit findings are investigated, tracked, and reported to management and the customer, as required.
Performs data analysis relating to product conformity, the corporate quality policy and objectives, customer/supplier satisfaction, and the trends of various products and processes.
Assist with the development and management of the QA/NDE/ISO overhead and direct budgets.
Provides input for QA and NDE estimates for proposals and/or large efforts.
Skills:
Experience Requirements:
Bachelor degree and/or experience equivalency.
Min. 10 years of QA/QC experience in Ship Repair or heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Interaction with Naval Surface Warfare Centers and specific requirements
Background in NDT a plus
Other Requirements:
Must be able to obtain a Government facility security pass.
Must be able to pass a Drug Screening, and Work Ability Screening.
