Certified Welding Inspector with Piping experience, Needed Immediately in Clayton NC
6 WEEK Project 70 Hour work week
Per Diem given
System walk-downs (walk the system down to verify correct routing, hangers, materials, and components per piping drawings), and verify pressure tests
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of quality assurance inspections under the direction of the Project Manager.
Inspections are performed on carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe systems and can include copper and plastic piping systems.
Inspections are performed to satisfy the project specification and applicable piping code requirements.
Typical piping codes include B31.3, B31.1, and B31.9.
Common welding processes include SMAW and GTAW for carbon steel and stainless-steel systems respectively.
Critical systems typically require documentation to demonstrate materials of construction, qualified welding procedures, qualified welders, qualified brazers, qualified bonders, visual weld inspections, installation verification (ISO drawings, P&ID, hangers, slope), non-destructive testing (NDT), and pressure testing.
Comprehension of project specification rand applicable code requirements is vital.
Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) when completing project documentation.
Communicates with fabrication contractors and customer regarding project specification and code requirements including resolution of quality issues.
Non-complying issues are required to be documented in accordance with the established project quality plan.
