Level II Shearwave/MT/PT/VT - Newport News Shipyard

Applied Technical Services Inc. Applied Technical Services is currently looking for qualified Level II UTS/MT/PT/VT technicians to help support our operations in Newport New, VA. Must have all level II Shearwave/MT/PT/VT certifications to be considered.

Newport News, VA - Shipyard - Level II Shearwave/MT/PT/VT

Site: Newport News, VA Shipbuilding (NNS) - Must be a United States Citizen
Certifications: Level II UTS/MT/PT/VT must have all certifications to be considered - Preferably with MIL STD 2035 and 271 experience.
Duration: Temporary 1 year
Start: ASAP
Work Schedule: 58 hours a week
Per Diem: Yes as per GSA guidelines


Conduct Tests with UTS/MT/PT/VT - preferably with MIL STD 2035 and 271 experience
Apply testing in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
Interpret, evaluate and document results through formal reports
Complete reports and documentation as required.
Must be computer literate and be able to write good reports.
Participate in ATS and Client safety programs
Travel to customers industrial or construction work sites
Must be able to work various shifts
Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements:

Certified or Certifiable to Level II in UT-Shearwave
Other NDT certifications such as MT, PT, and VT are preferred but not required.
Must be willing and able to work at heights, confined spaces, outdoors and in labs, manufacturing and industrial sites.
Must be willing and able to travel, work odd hours, work over time, work varying hours and a varying schedule.
Must have good communication skills and be computer literate.
Must be drug free and have a valid drivers license with a good driving record.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified Level II MT, PT, UT and VT.
Technical Background in NDT methods & procedures
Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
Knowledge of NDT equipment
