QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree; Training and ability to obtain and maintain ASNT/NAS 410 Level 3 NDT certification in Radiography (film and digital) and FPI
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of Aerospace NDT experience or 10 years of other industry NDT experience

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Control NDT processes within the company’s Aluminum and Magnesium sand casting foundry. Problem solving with engineering and customers as needed to resolve quality issues. Test and maintain internal personnel certifications. Management/Supervisor experience a plus.

TRAINING:
• Must have formal training and experience hours to meet NAS 410 Level 3 in Radiography (film and digital) and Penetrant. Must acquire ASNT certifications in same.

CERTIFICATION:
• Must be able to pass a company specific general, specific and practical examination in each method
• Must be willing and able to pass customer required Level 3 exams in order to become the Responsible Level 3
• Must pass annual eye exam demonstrating no color discrimination and acceptable visual acuity per NAS 410
Skills:
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
• Member of the Material Review Board
• Answer quality issues and questions (referencing Specifications, Blueprints, etc.)
• Resolve NDT issues (questionable acceptance/rejection)
• Ensure material and equipment certifications are maintained per procedure.
• QRB meetings as needed
• Update radiographic and penetrant methods with new technology
• Revise radiographic techniques and ensure new exposure parameters are correct
• Train and maintain NDT personnel certifications internally
• Review film usage on current techniques for coverage or over coverage and give final approval
• Write work instructions for Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection when required by customer
• Attend process improvement meetings. (Inspection improvement, front frame, internal auditor)

• Ensure the departments (FPI, X-ray, Welding) conform to NADCAP and customer requirements
• Effectively communicate with customers as needed
