Acuren is currently seeking experienced UAS Project Coordinator to support our operation in Torrance, CA.

The UAS Project Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of drone-based inspection operations with a strong focus on GIS data management and analysis. This position ensures that UAS field operations are efficiently organized, that spatial data is processed and delivered with accuracy, and that all client deliverables meet Acuren’s technical and quality standards. The coordinator plays a critical role in translating field-collected UAS data into actionable geospatial products, managing workflows through ArcGIS environments, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and operational requirements. Acting as the central liaison between pilots, inspectors, clients, and internal stakeholders, the UAS Project Coordinator ensures seamless data flow, effective communication, and the successful completion of each UAS operation.

Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
Coordinate logistics for UAS operations, including site assessments, permissions, and access planning.
Coordinate complex airspace approvals and work with regulatory authorities to ensure all UAS operations are authorized and compliant.
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
Monitor and track project progress, providing regular updates and status reports to management and clients.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution.
Develop and deliver professional presentations and operational summaries, including geospatial findings and inspection updates.
GIS & Data Management
Manage the end-to-end GIS workflow, including data collection, processing, validation, and visualization within ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online (AGOL), ArcGIS Enterprise, Field Maps, and Survey123.
Perform data integration, geospatial analysis, and map creation to support inspection reporting and deliverables.
Conduct data quality control and assurance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to spatial data standards.
Use ArcGIS Pro and AGOL to perform data cleanup, layer management, and feature editing before client delivery.
Support permit requests and regulatory compliance for government and restricted areas, preparing and submitting spatial datasets (KMZ, shapefiles, and metadata).
Coordinate with field pilots and inspectors to ensure all collected data is properly submitted, reviewed, and aligned with project specifications.
Operational Support & Compliance
Keep accurate flight logs, maintenance records, and compliance documentation in line with company and FAA standards.
Assist in developing and maintaining SOPs, documentation, and training materials for UAS data workflows.
Ensure all UAS operations comply with FAA Part 107 regulations, including airspace authorizations, waivers, and local permitting.
Collaborate with internal safety and compliance teams to manage airspace coordination, flight approvals, and operational risk assessments.
Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Science, Geography, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 2+ years of experience in GIS project coordination, data management, or UAS operations.
Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Pro/Online, Field Maps, Survey123, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Google Earth.
Familiarity with FAA Part 107 operations, airspace authorization processes, and UAS data workflows.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in GIS data processing, mapping, and analysis.
Strong working knowledge of spatial data formats (KMZ, shapefile, GeoJSON, etc.).
Experience managing data collection applications and cloud-based GIS environments.
Ability to perform data QA/QC and geospatial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, project management tools, and file-sharing platforms.

Pay Transparency: As per applicable state law the job posting pay range is $25.00.00 - 45.00 an hour depending on experience and applicable certifications.
