Due to our sustained growth, our Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) Department needs to add to the team and has a great opportunity for a self-motivated, growth oriented, knowledgeable Technical Manager of KTA’s brand new dedicated NDE laboratory. This professional will help us grow our employee-owned company by ensuring existing client satisfaction and pursuing and developing new business opportunities. This employee will work out of the Pittsburgh corporate office in Findlay Township (near the Pittsburgh International Airport). You will know you have been successful when within 12 months you have:

-Provided technical support, leadership and oversight of KTA’s NDE laboratory operations and personnel while maintaining compliance with ASTM, KTA’s Quality Management System, and other appropriate standardized procedures;
-Performed and scheduled testing, maintained multiple projects and test specimens concurrently, evaluated results, and developed comprehensive technical reports;
-Acquired and maintained ISO 17025 and NADCAP qualifications;
-Leveraged KTA’s resources to develop and design unique tests that are not ASTM standard protocol and new NDE service offerings to augment KTA’s key differentiators;
-Fostered customer relationships and secured new business opportunities for the NDE laboratory; and
-Obtained ASNT Level III certification in at least one discipline (within first six months).

Skills:
Our ideal candidate will have 5 years’ experience in NDE or related field, supervision, as well as multiple NDE discipline and other lab testing experience. NDE and computer applications experience is required. A technical degree in Engineering Technology, Applied Science or related field is preferred.

Physical requirements: safely lift 25 pounds, bending, smelling, speaking, manual dexterity to handle small objects, instruments or gages, close, distance depth and color vision.
