The purpose of this position is co-ordinate all Expediting activities, ensure materials and equipment meet the agreed completion schedules, minimize delays, ensure company procurements systems are updated and maintain data integrity.
Responsible for all the Procurement teams expediting activities, will ensure all company purchase orders/call o are part of the expediting cycle and program. Maintained the accuracy and integrity of P0/Call off status data and information within the systems supporting Procurement and the Project. Responsible for obtaining accurate information from the Vendors on current status of materials and equipment under manufacture. Responsible for advising purchasing staff on potential delays and assist in the development of recovery plans. As necessary carry out planned and unplanned visits to suppliers and provide reports on supplier performance and equipment delivery status. Worked closely with company inspection contractor, co-ordinate visits and ensure all interstices are identified and met. Liaise with all senior buyers and buyers on all outstanding issues, support purchasing staff in BCM and other related meetings and discussions. Responsible for developing and issuing material and equipment status reports, data transfer to PIMS and for all special reports required.
Work with a team that had the responsibility for obtaining goods and services as assigned, and ensuring that quality, cost effective products are delivered according to supplier performance requirements. Did execute procurement strategies and used strong negotiation skills for cost increases/decreases with current suppliers. Placed orders materials to satisfy forecasted and safety stock requirements to insure there were no gaps in material receipts to meet production. Worked with both domestic and international suppliers in this role, we established reliable, predictable supply channels to encourage a consistent inbound flow of materials in an effort to support long term growth and reliability, while minimizing the need for material expedites.


Maintained constant contact with major equipment suppliers and those suppliers where the materials and equipment are critical to the fabrication schedule. Responsible for assignment of field expeditors as applicable, will co-ordinate all expediting reports and ensure reports are distributed to agreed staff. Will interface with the SQS and QA team to get problems resolved either with the vendor or with in the PMT team. This position is two levels removed from the Project Manager. The job scope at Conoco Phillips China, at he Fluor office in Sugar land, TX was the Project Lead for expediting all purchased items for the Bohai bay project. Supervised 5 in house expeditors, one in Europe, and several in the field expeditors around the world. Reported to the Project team and updated an expediting report system, MATMAN, Visited suppliers as needed to resolve any delays. QA/ QC knowledge used in assessing fabrication delays and resolutions.

During this assignment the scope of work was acting on behalf of the client (BP Thunder Horse) management, including but not limited to over sight of the contractor management decisions pertaining to all aspect of the work associated with the contract. Represented client¡¯s management team on site to coordinate the delivery of contractually required documents in order to facilitate the shipment of the items. The timing of the shipment of the equipment was critical for the installation schedule.
Monitored the manufacturing and packaging of new equipment onsite and at vendor¡¯s facility, for major oil and gas producers and engineering firms. Performed numerous inspections on the equipment including dimensional control and NDE review. Witnessing of hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, verifying dry film thickness of coated components, and the installation of equipment designated for large and small packaged units. Coordinated multiple schedules in order to assure the project was completed on time and with minimum impact on other project activities. Met with clients engineers on a weekly bases and provided real time status of machining, QA/QC, testing and re-assembly of completed units. Performs internal audits at Vendor facilities and external audits at supplier facilities in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001-2000 standards ASME and other regulatory codes and standards as applicable.
