• I was also working alongside another two men carrying out Hydro Pressure Testing, on pipework from something as low as 3Bar of pressure all the way up to over 500bar of pressurized water.
Working out the right correct torque for the torque wrench in order to tighten the bolts up, building the pressure up in stages in accordance with the procedure on a recorder clock, holding for the desired time, and releasing in stages once again.

Marine Fabrications, Haverton Hill, Middlesbrough
• Carrying out MPI on structural framework, and the occasional Hardness checking to the client’s specification

Pipetawse ltd, Redhall Engineering, Cape, Barrier Offshore, SBV
• Visiting all the above fabrication shops on a weekly basis MPI and DPI testing carried out on pipework butt welds as well as PMI and Hardness testing, tying in with clients and ensuring all inspection work was carried out in a professional manner and in the correct timescale.
Radiography
• For the last 5 months of working at stork I was shadowing an experienced Radiographer who had been in the trade for over 35 years. Learning and gaining some valuable experience in how to radiograph welds and castings, mainly castings which would come from Peel Jones Copper Products in which we would check for any cracks, tears, shrinkage etc on Copper Tuyeres and Copper Coolers which would then be placed in Furnaces all around the world on approval.

November 2013- January 2014
QA Weldtech:-
• Once a career in NDT had been decided, I volunteered to do my 40 hours work placement at QA Weldtech after help from a friend and Robbie Harrison (Production Supervisor). Shadowing a few different men, I picked up valuable knowledge about welds, forges and castings which would set me in good stead towards my MPI/DPI examinations. Gaining experience and Learning at the same time.
